Join Jim Ryan from the Federation of Irish Beekeepers to hear about the honey bee.
Westport Beekeepers Association will be in attendance with local information. (Help needed!! Give your name to Dermot if you are available to help the club out on this day)

Jim has kindly offered to come to Westport on Saturday 18th (day before talk in the National Museum) to give a demonstration on the making of lip Balm’s, face & hand creams and moisturisers.

A large crowd attended the February Beekeepers meeting to hear Pauraic Horkan talk about ‘favourite plants and flowers the bees prefer and work’ also William Robertson assisted by Henry Horkan gave a very interesting talk on“Nuclei for Beginners”
Plans are also underway to bring an expert on candle making, soap, face and hand creams and other wax product manufacturing to Westport. If there is enough of interest a date will be fixed over a weekend. (Saturday and Sunday)

Note: Membership is now overdue, it is important to remember that part of your membership covers your insurance and membership of the FIBKA.
Membership: €35 each. €15 for associate. This will be collected at the next meetings, kids under 18 free with parents. Please put the money in a sealed envelope with all your details on it.
Note: It is important that everybody who have bees or thinking about getting a hive or more, have plans made! e.g. some extra hives, nuc boxes, frames, wax and other locations for apiaries if required etc, etc. The committee are available to help with advice and where to aquire this.
There are a number of overwintered hives and nucs available to us now.
