25/05/2011

Féile na Tuaithe 21-22 May 2011 – Turlough Park,

National Museum of Ireland – Country Life, Turlough Park, Castlebar, Co. Mayo.

We were there and had a very enjoyable weekend despite the inclement weather, The three Beekeeping club’s from the West of Ireland “Connemara Beekeepers Association, The Ballina Beekeepers Association and The Westport Beekeepers Association” came togather on 21st – 22nd May 2011, at the National Museum of Ireland – Country Life, Turlough Park, Castlebar, Co. Mayo. to put on a show never witnessed before in the West of Ireland. The theme of the display was ‘ Honey from the bee to the table’ masterminded by our own club tresurer ‘Dermot Ó Flaherty’ one of his many and innovative ideas for the promotion of Beekeeping in the West.

We would wish to offer our sincere thanks to all who helped make this a brilliant success and look forward to a bright future for our Honey Bee here in the West.

Castlebar keeps it country for Féile na Tuaithe

This weekend, May 21-22, Castlebar will be buzzing with country life, as Féile na Tuaithe will be in full swing.
The free, fun-filled weekend festival, which takes place in the grounds of National Museum of Ireland –Country Life, Turlough Park, runs from 12pm – 5pm each day. Now in its 7th year, this family favourite attracted 25,000 visitors last year.
This year, Féile na Tuaithe boasts a wonderful line-up of craft, art, traditional skills, entertainment, artisan food and more.
Adding to the buzz, quite literally, is a new addition: bees. Westport, Ballina and Connemara Beekeepers Associations will have a stand at the festival for the first time – very fitting, as The Federation.
